It is my distinct pleasure to announce my next interview, a Conversation with Jennifer Stromer-Galley or, as I knew her at the University at Albany, Professor Stromer-Galley, currently a professor in the School of Information Studies at Syracuse University. Mentor, thesis advisor, teacher, and role model, Dr. Stromer-Galley has inspired me in my academic career path as she has many others through her amazing intellect, clear-sighted insights, and deep research. Her recently released book, Presidential Campaigning in the Internet Age, investigates presidential campaigning from 1996 when the World Wide Web was still in its infancy, to the deep data mining in the video-sharing, social media-using world of Campaigns 2012. In the coming week, we will talk about her book, her research, and how campaigns have utilized the promise of Internet to elect candidates.
In the meantime, you can follow Dr. Stromer-Galley on Twitter, or peruse some of her research. In any case, check back soon for Part One of our interview!
